1910s Gold Heraldic Dragon Chain Cufflinks
1910s antique cufflinks. The art of enamel jewelry goes back thousands of years. Fine powdered colored glass is applied to a base metal. It is then heated (fired) to melt and transform into a decorative element. These cufflinks represent a fine example of Champleve Enamel where channels are carved out of metal to make a well filled with the glass enamel. The partitions are part of the base and not applied on the surface. Marked: Industria Argentina, which was used from 1875 to 1959. 6K gold is referred to as pure gold which means 25% gold mixed with 75% other metals. Total weight: 9.5 gm.
