1960s Shannon Rodgers Day Dress XS

1960s vintage day dress by famous designer Shannon Rodgers. Cotton pique with satin ribbon trim, Allover floral pattern, Square neckline, Gently fitted bodice, four gore a-line skirting with gentle gathers at front hips. Put on and remove overhead (do not step in), Metal zipper at the front center does not look original, Darling upper covered button placket; Original matching belt has slight fraying on the belt hole and a bit of the belt's backing has become detached (see images).

Label: Designed by Shannon Rodgers, ILGWU union bug label (indicates this was Made in the USA and is found at the inner side seam of the skirting). Shannon Rodgers was the world-famous designer for Jerry Silverman. His Hollywood costuming career began "Cleopatra" in Hollywood (1934). First Ladies Lady Bird Johnson, Princess Margaret, Bess Myerson, Pat Nixon, and others wore his dresses.
