1909 vintage postcard. The Basilica of the Holy Cross is the burial place of some of the most illustrious Italians, such as Michelangelo, Galileo, and Machiavelli, so it is also called the Temple of the Italian Glories. It is the largest Franciscan church in the world. The Statue of Dante Alighieri is a monument by Enrico Pazzi, erected in 1865. This would look great framed or make an excellent addition to any collection.
