1907 vintage comic leather vintage postcard. "Home Sweet Home" with the musical score of "Be it ever so humble there's no place like home".

The original source of “Home, Sweet Home” was an opera known called Clari, or The Maid of Milan. The lyrics were written by John Howard Payne and set to music composed by Sir Henry Bishop (1786-1855). 'Mid pleasures and Palaces though we may roam, Be it ever so humble there's no place like home!"

Leather deer hide novelty postcards were popular between 1903-1907.  The lettering and drawings were made with a pyrography burning process and hand-colored with ink.  The popularity of the cards soared as women started making pillows, blankets, and even clothing out of sewing the ecards together like patchwork.  Unfortunately, the leather-jammed post office sorting machines resulted in the end of the legal sending of these cards.
