1912 Arion & Dolphin by Hiolle

This 1912 antique silver gelatin real photo postcard features the remarkable “Arion Seated on a Dolphin” by the distinguished French sculptor Ernest Hiolle. Hiolle, celebrated for his classical and allegorical figures, brings to life the Greek myth of Arion, a legendary musician who pirates kidnaped and miraculously rescued by dolphins.
