This 1907 vintage postcard offers a stunning aerial view of Denver, Colorado, featuring two of the city’s iconic buildings: City Hall and the Mint.

The historic City Hall, once located at the corner of 14th and Larimer was built in 1883. Designed by architect William H.J. Nichols, this grand building was situated on the banks of Cherry Creek. It was a central hub for Denver’s municipal activities and was known for its distinctive Italianate style architecture. Although the City Hall no longer stands, the bell from the original building has been preserved and now sits at the same corner as a memorial.

Also featured is the Denver East Mint, a branch of the United States Mint that began striking coins on February 1, 1906. Located at the corner of West Colfax Avenue and Delaware Street in Denver, Colorado, the mint is renowned for its architectural beauty and historical significance. Designed in the Late 19th and 20th-century Revival style by architect James Knox Taylor, the building is part of the Civic Center Historic District.

The postcard also includes a poignant message on the back. The sender wrote:  August 22nd Cisco, Utah. Hair stopped over here till morning to offer medical assistance to a young man who was shot just as the train pulled out. 65 miles from a Dr. I leave in the morn for Ogden. Will write you later. HRE.”  The front has a handwritten notation "Patient doing fine".
