1960s vintage Emilio Pucci for Formfit Rogers long leg pany girdle in the floral Morning Glory print.

Emilio Pucci was an important designer who revolutionized fashion by boldly using vibrant colors, geometric patterns, and luxurious fabrics. Known for his innovative approach to prints and his ability to blend elegance with modernity, Pucci's designs redefined luxury and sophistication in the mid-20th century. His work embodied freedom, movement, and contemporary living, influencing fashion and the cultural zeitgeist of the 1960s and beyond. Pucci's signature style continues to be celebrated for its timeless appeal and transformative impact on the fashion world.

Formfit Rogers, established in 1917 in Chicago, was a leading manufacturer of intimate garments and gowns, becoming one of the largest producers of intimates worldwide. In 1957, fashion designer Emilio Pucci partnered with the company. His first project was to create a lightweight girdle, as he disliked how traditional, heavy girdles looked like undergarments. Pucci believed that "women must move with elegance and freedom," he envisioned a streamlined design that reflected the modern lifestyle. Collaborating with Formfit Rogers, Pucci developed the "Viva" panty-girdle, which was lightweight and showcased the natural curve of a woman's figure—an innovation that had never been achieved before.

The Pucci Print Collection for Formfit Rogers was bursting with vibrant colors, except for the foundations (bras, panties, girdles, and some slips), which showcased softer, more muted shades. The pale nude background and subdued tones not only highlight the design but also authenticate the piece. Along with the EPFR signature, the period label further confirms its authenticity.

Lycral measurements for the firmest girdle control. This foundation is firm and unforgiving. Be sure to consider your actual measurements before purchasing.

The vintage tag size is a "Lge," but this girdle corresponds to a modern small girdle, which is recommended for buying with the idea of going two inches smaller than what you measure. The general rule of thumb is to buy 2 inches smaller than your actual measurements.

Measured flat and doubled where appropriate.
Waist: 24"
Hips: 29"
Side length: 13 1/2"
Leg openings: 18 1/2"

Care and condition: To keep them in good condition, hand wash separately in lukewarm water and air dry or use a cool dryer setting. The fabric shows some signs of wear, including some broken interwoven elastic fibers. Some fade from laundering. There are purple fabric stains on the inside banded legs, and a few of the spots made their way through to the outer fabric of the band on the inside crotch area.  See the images.
