1930s vintage vanilla white casein buttons. Set of three sew-through buttons. Measure approximately 19L, 19 lignes, 18.4 mm, or 23/32.

Invented in 1897, Casein milk plastics are a type of plastic made from a protein called casein, found in milk. They were popular in the early 1900s, but making it was a slow process, and after World War II, newer plastics became more popular. The production of casein plastics all but ended after 1945.
