43L Celluloid Brutalist Shank Buttons

Set of four late 1940s to 1950s vintage celluloid shank buttons. Set of four. Measure approximately 43L, 43 lignes, 27.3 mm, or 1 5/64 inch.

Celluloids are considered the first plastic. Introduced in 1880, the height of celluloid was seen between the 1930s and 1955. It was banned from production because it is highly flammable.
