1907 Saint Mary's Notre Dame Avenue Indiana
1907 vintage postcard. St Mary's Women's College walking path, with two women walking. In 1908, the school officially became Saint Mary’s College. This is an early postcard dated a year before the school became independent of Notre Dame.
In 1843 four Sisters of the Holy Cross ventured from Le Mans, France, to the wilderness of northern Indiana. Shortly after, they opened a boarding school for young women in Bertrand, just north of the Michigan state line from South Bend.
