1947 vintage postcard of Fort Necessity, which is historically significant as the site of George Washington’s first real battle. The fort is shown as a circular wooden palisade situated in an open field, with an American flag flying at its center. The foreground features greenery and a body of water, while the sky above is partly cloudy. The text at the bottom of the postcard reads, “On National Highway, 11 Miles East of Uniontown, Pa.” This would look great framed or make an excellent addition to any collection.
