Care instructions and condition: Machine wash warm, tumble dry. While technically new, these were exposed to a water leak while in storage, and another garment bled onto the left side area, and the external crotch gusset caused permanent stains. The back side of the label shows evidence of hand pricing for an in-store Sale Bin promotion. Please see the images.
Fun Facts:
Our research, using the RN number, indicates that these vintage panties were produced by the Marion Rohr Corporation, based at 18 N. Main St. in Hornell, New York. The building, part of the Historic Rockland Silk Mill, has an intriguing history. From 1894 to 2001, it served as a hub for several lingerie manufacturers, playing a key role in establishing Hornell as the second-largest silk producer in the U.S. and earning it the nickname "City of Silk." Many locals fondly remember the site as the Marion Rohr building, often referred to as the "Panty Shanty" by employees, who produced undergarments here until the factory closed in 2001 due to competition from overseas.
