The Court of Carlos IV is the second novel in the first series of the National Episodes by Benito Pérez Galdós. Treason is plotted by Prince Ferdinand and his supporters, against his father, King Charles IV. The plot tells how the conspiracy is discovered and dismantled, as well as the subsequent trials of its participants, carefully reflecting the situation of the Spanish court at the beginning of the 19th century.
