This vintage 1930s-era liquid satin dressing gown or robe is a stunning example of Art Deco elegance. The robe features a color-blocked design, with a rich burgundy or wine-colored body and a contrasting light pink satin panel down the center front. The pink panel runs from the V-neckline to the hem, tied at the waist with matching self-tie belts that create a defined waistline while adding a decorative touch. The short, puffed sleeves and floor-length hem, with a Court train at the back, enhance the gown’s luxurious feel. The overall design, with its ruching at the shoulders, highlights the femininity and sophistication of the era.

Modern size equivalent: Large
Bust (underarm to underarm): 40"
Waist: up to 34" (with a bit of fabric to spare at fold-over panels)
Shoulders/across back: 16"
Sleeve (shoulder to cuff):14"
Bodice: 16"
Length front: 55"
Length at back includes train: 64"

Condition and care: Flaws: The satin shows some minor mars, and certain seams, including the back center skirting seam, have been resewn. This was done inside the original seam line. There is a small stain near the colorblock seam on the left front, just above the hem. Additionally, there are a few very subtle, fade-like stains on the skirting, which are mostly visible from the inside if closely inspected. There is a stain approximately 25" up from the hem at the right side that gets lost in the skirting: it is approximately 5" long and shown with the measuring tape. Please review the provided images for a closer look at these details.

Dry cleaning is recommended. Dry cleaning is recommended for this gown. If you choose to hand wash it in cold water, be sure to hang it to dry with the red fabric positioned so that it doesn't drip onto the peach-colored areas. The red dye may bleed during drying, so hanging it carefully will help prevent any color transfer.
