1909 Louisville Kentucky Boys' High School
1909 vintage postcard. Boys' High School in Louisville, Kentucky. Such a majestic, historical image. The multi-story stone building started out as Female (Louisville Girls') High School, from 1899-1915 it hosted Louisville Male High School. The architecture includes four pairs of Corinthian columns supporting a canopy over the front steps and entryway. Numerous tall narrow windows topped with arches adorn the building. A side entryway repeats the arch motif.
Current Address: west side of First Street between Chestnut and Walnut (now called Muhammad Ali), Louisville, Kentucky. This building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
