1906. Gaiety Girl Gladys Cooper in a romanticized fantasy image. Founded in the 1890s, Gaiety Girls were respectable, elegant young ladies, unlike the actresses from London's earlier musical burlesque (those naughty courtesans!). After being a Gaiety Girl, Cooper moved on to become a silent film star.

This antique silver bromide vintage real photo is marked by J. W. Berlin, who specialized in stage, opera, and silent film star portrait cards. The company was located at 14 Kirschenstraße Street (Church Street) Charlottenburg, Berlin, Germany. Its location was near many theatrical and entertainment establishments, so many of its clients were stage and silent film stars.
