This authentic vintage linen postcard from 1938 captures a whimsical and uniquely Southern moment along the Enchanted Trail at Rock City Gardens. Three men are pictured standing beside a playful scene where gnomes appear to be making moonshine at a tiny woodland still—one of Rock City's most beloved and cheeky fairytale displays.

Located atop Lookout Mountain, where Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama meet, Rock City Gardens was opened in 1932 by Garnet and Frieda Carter. Designed to enchant visitors of all ages, the gardens blend natural rock formations with European folklore. Frieda Carter, inspired by German legends, imported gnome statues and tucked them throughout the gardens, creating scenes like this one that continue to delight guests to this day.

Printed on linen-textured cardstock, this postcard reflects the bold colors and playful charm of 1930s American roadside attractions. It's a standout piece for collectors of vintage travel memorabilia, Southern kitsch, or Rock City’s fairytale history.
