1907 Krell French Piano Factory New Castle Indiana
1907 vintage topographical postcard. The Krell Piano Company was established in 1889 by Albert Krell and his sons Alexander and Albert, Jr., in Cincinnati, Ohio. Alexander Krell died in 1895, and Albert Sr. died in 1900, leaving Albert Krell Jr. to run operations.
The Krell-French Piano Company would become one of the four largest in the United States. The plant, which had over five acres of floor space and employed more than 400 skilled workers, constantly moved thousands of pianos through various stages of construction.
