1904 Wedding Shoes Rain Good Luck
1914 vintage postcard. "May good fortune follow you." A charming illustration of a newlywed couple walking under an umbrella. A bag of rice floats in the air, raining rice, shoes, and hearts down upon them. In Victorian England it was traditional to toss old shoes at a married couple at their wedding to bring good luck, rice was thrown for fertility, and the hearts symbolized romantic love. Embossed. This would look great framed.
