This rare vintage postcard from 1909 features the "Hiawatha," an excursion steamer that operated between New Albany and White City, Indiana. Originally built as the W.J. Young Jr. in 1882 in Dubuque, Iowa, it was converted into an excursion boat in 1906 and renamed "Hiawatha." Tragically, it caught fire on November 30, 1911, at the base of Broadway in Louisville.

The postcard showcases a lithograph of the Hiawatha on the Ohio River, with the Cincinnati-Covington Bridge (formerly known as the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge) visible in the background. This vintage piece would make a beautifully framed display or a lovely addition to any collection.
