Allo-Ette by Maiden Form was designed for women whose cup sizes that fell between between cup sizes women in the 1940s. This is a beautiful vintage 1940s peach longline bra with girdle hooks. If you fall larger than the average C and not-quite D cup, this bra was designed with you in mind.
Advertised for "In-between Bosoms... Allo-Ette gives superb support and control to average bosoms and those just a little larger-than-average."
Made during WW2, Maiden Form argued with the government’s War Production Board when it tried to ration the materials needed to make its bras. Maiden Form applied for a “Declaration of Essentiality,” arguing that America needs working women, and working women need their bras. The campaign succeeded, with the compensation that it substituted cotton broadcloth for fabrics like nylon, lace, and silk. The 1/2-inch satin finish insert at the center was within the rationing guidelines of the period.
