1910 vintage postcard, posted in 1912. "Happy Birthday Greetings" “Fede” is Italian for faith, fidelity, and trust. “Mani in fede,” means hands clasped in faith. The classic fede design depicts a man and a woman's hands clasped in a gentle gesture of trust and affection.
This card has a rare gelatin coating. Expected cracking in the coating can be seen with the naked eye, which is expected in antique cards with a glossy gelatin finish.
