1953 Red LILL Coal Truck Chicago Illinois
1953 vintage postcard. For . . . "Loads of Satisfaction" Call for the big red truck with the silver letters LILL.
The Lill Coal Company was a significant business in Chicago’s history. It started as a brewery in 1833, the same year Chicago was incorporated as a village. Over time, it transitioned into a coal and oil firm, playing a crucial role in the local economy. The company had coal yards located at 1121 Berwyn Avenue and near the current Red Line in Chicago, which were well-known for the sounds of coal cars unloading. This would look great framed or make an excellent addition to any collection.
