1940 vintage postcard. Mutual Life Insurance home office building on the street corner, built in classic temple style. "This beautiful building is located on East Wisconsin Avenue, only a short distance from Lincoln Memorial Bridge Park and Juneau Park on beautiful Milwaukee Bay."The Northwestern Mutual Life Building in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was considered an early skyscraper.
Built in 1886, it was one of the tallest buildings in the city at the time, standing at 108 feet with eight stories. This building was part of the early wave of skyscrapers in the United States, characterized by their steel-frame construction and significant height compared to other buildings of the era. This vintage linen lithograph postcard would look great framed or make an excellent addition to any collection.
