1940s Moving Notice

1940s vintage saucy comic postcard captioned: "Hey Gang! I'm leaving town Back in ___ days."

Moving? Let them know how long you'll be gone with this postcard! A goofy-looking man waves from the police wagon side window. A grim-faced officer drives and another holds on to the back, nightstick flying from his waist as the wagon zooms along. A happy dog runs alongside the wagon as townsfolk lazily look on from their dwelling. You get the feeling this is not their first rodeo when it comes to seeing an arrest.

Check out the details on the card... Tony's grocery store, with whom we can only assume IS Tony, leaning in the front doorway of his shop. And it is likely Tony's wife leaning out of the second-floor apartment. Colorful laundry flies on the line in the background. This is such a delightful, colorful card! The back of the card is stamped "Greetings from Sturgis, Mich." This would look great framed or make an excellent addition to any collection.
