1938 vintage postcard. The General Motors Building in Detroit, Michigan. The General Motors Building in Detroit, now known as Cadillac Place, is a historic high-rise office complex located at 3044 West Grand Boulevard. Completed in 1922, it served as General Motors’ headquarters until 2001.
Designed by architect Albert Kahn, the building features a Neo-classical architectural style and stands 15 stories tall. It is not considered a skyscraper by modern standards and stands at 15 stories tall, which is relatively modest compared to the towering skyscrapers we see today. However, when it was completed in 1922, it was one of the tallest buildings in Detroit and an impressive architectural feat for its time.
The code 8A-H317 printed on this card dates it to 1938. This authentic vintage linen lithograph print postcard would look great framed or make an excellent addition to any collection.
