A gorgeous 1947 vintage linen postcard featuring Saguaro Cactus Trees in Arizona. Exclusive to the Sonoran Desert the saguaro cactus has long been a symbol of the Old West and Tucson, Arizona. These cacti are tall and tree-like, with branches commonly referred to as arms. Saguaros can grow up to 45 feet tall, weigh 4,800 pounds when fully hydrated and can often live 150 to 200 years.
Hand dated 3-6-47, the sender writes: Pearl, Here we are out in sunny Arizona, and it sure doesn't seem like it could be March. The sun is so warm, but from the letters we have from home, we think it must be. Love, Virgia & Walter. Postmarked in Tucson, Arizona.
