A stunning sugar basin or bowl by German glass company Brockwitz in red molded pressed glass with a vibrant yellow gold band frieze of roses. The pattern is called "Ariadne" named after the immortal wife of the wine-god Bacchus, a.k.a. Dionysos. Ariadne was offered in the Brockwitz catalog from 1929 to 1931.
