Paul Maenz writes "The term Art Deco appears for the first time in 1966 on the occasion of the retrospective exhibition "Les Années 25" held at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris." However, since then the productions and scope of Deco aesthetics have not ceased to be valued in the production of a contradictory and turbulent 20th century. Thus the Déco could be understood as a general trend, a succession of iridescent crystals that reflected in a different way and with different colors the same need for modernity. Art Deco in architecture came to reflect the same contradictions by seeking modernity at all costs, without altering the essence of architecture understood as ornament and elegance. But at the same time, it is also the latest style or trend that aspired to an optimistic vision of life, refined and at the same time decadent, one more option from the interwar period.
